A habit is defined as a recurrent, often unconscious pattern of behavior that is acquired through frequent repetition. Habits are those things that are so automatic, we do them without even thinking about it. Whilst some habits are harmless; such as getting up at the same time every day; Having the same food for breakfast; following the exact same route to work without deviating every day. Others, which are detrimental to our well being, are not!
Some of the most common bad habits people struggle with are obvious, such as smoking, drinking too much, or spending too much time on the computer. But there are others, which may appear on the surface, to be a normal part of an individuals character; but are in reality, are just another habit. They were not born with this behaviour, it has developed over time. But has become through constant repetition, an ingrained part of their personality.
