Mindful Living In The World

This timeless, witnessing awareness has been hypnotized (distracted) by a fictitious, self-centered, ‘me’ story of being born in form (the illusion of limitation and separation). It all starts with the ill-conceived idea of believing ourselves (as awareness) to be limited to the body-mind, personal experiences, beliefs, social-cultural conditioning, etc.

Once you realize and fully accept that you are not the form/content (your thoughts, moods, sensory perceptions, social roles and personal story), which are all inevitably subject to change- therefore illusory, you can finally rest as the unchanging, unconditioned awareness that you are; the natural, essential state of beingness that cannot be named, only known, through direct experience.

The Courage To Continue

There can be times in our lives, when not only is it difficult to get through the day, for some, simply putting one foot in front of the other, can feel like a mountain to climb. We live in an age where there is constant pressure. To compete, to succeed, to live up to the expectations of others and the responsibility for providing for our families financial security and emotional well-being. We do this gladly and with love, but over time, if life has proven to be very difficult, it can take its toll and many people suffer physical and mental burnout.

 

Long term stress can seriously deplete the body; and in spite of the warning signals people receive from their bodies, many ignore them. By sheer force of will they carry on, long after they should have stopped.  Not realising the damage they are doing to themselves.  Continually striving to keep going, bouncing back from one obstacle after another, until one day the mind and body says enough!

 

This kind of experience can be overwhelming and frightening. We take our bodies so much for granted, and it is not until they stop doing what we want them to do, do we finally appreciate them. Plenty of rest and a good diet, is often enough to repair the physical damage to the body. Unless it is something skeletal, or muscular, in which case there may be the need for a much longer recovery period and medical treatment.  By far the most difficult thing that people find to recover from is the emotional damage. The loss of confidence and self belief. Acute anxiety and depression,  is responsible for many people having to take time off work or being in long term unemployment.

Creating Inner Peace

A lot of people, these days, are under stress. This may be for a variety of reasons from unemployment to juggling childcare and work. Our lives have become busier with the advent of new technology. Some of the gadgets that were invented to make our lives easier, such as mobile phones, have actually made our lives more stressful. How many of you can actually say that you take time to switch off and relax? If you are like the majority of the population, you probably check texts and emails on your mobile phone at least once every hour.

You may not even realise that you have a problem. Perhaps you are on the treadmill of life and have become comfortable in you routine. Perhaps you pour yourself a glass of wine when you get home from work each night to relax. This is not healthy, either, and is just a substitute for the inner peace you are subconsciously trying to achieve. You won’t achieve inner peace by drinking alcohol; it may help to relax you, at first, but when it becomes a habit, it can lead to all sorts of problems. Research has shown that people with highly stressful jobs are more likely to become dependent on alcohol.

Overcoming Illness

There can be many reasons for why someone might become unwell. But by far, one of the biggest contributory factors to this, is a weakened Immune System, due to a prolonged exposure to stress. As many of us know, stress can leave you feeling extremely tired and run down. In this state, you are more likely to catch any cold or virus that is going around. Scientists believe, that it is for this reason, people who suffer traumatic events, such as sudden redundancy, bereavement; relationships issues such as infidelity, separation and divorce are more at risk from conditions such as heart disease and depression.

When under stress, cells of the immune system are unable to respond to hormonal control, and consequently, produce levels of inflammation that promote disease. Because inflammation plays a role in many diseases such as cardiovascular, asthma and autoimmune disorders, this model suggests why stress impacts them as well. Knowing this is important, it can be very helpful for identifying which diseases may be influenced by stress and how to go about preventing disease in chronically stressed people. There are also many other ways that stress can make us ill.

Understanding The Aura

The aura is made up of seven layers, or sheaths, which interpenetrate each other and the physical body. Each layer has its own vibrational frequency which changes, when there is disharmony; Either in itself or in any of the other layers. The degree in which a person is able to perceive (see) the aura, is determined by the range of frequencies, that they are able to ‘tune’ into. When the gift of auric sight starts to open, for the majority of people only the layers closest to the physical body are perceived. But with practice, psychic and spiritual development, this vision can expand.

The auric layers and your needs on each level of the auric layers are as follows:

1) Physical auric body – Physical sensations. Simple physical comfort, pleasure, health.

2) The etheric auric body – Emotions with respect to self. Self-acceptance and self love.

3) Vital auric body – Rational mind. To understand the situation in a clear, linear, rational way.

4) Astral (emotional) body – Relations with others. Loving interaction with friends and family.

5) Lower mental auric body – Divine will within. To align with the divine will within, to make commitment to speak and follow the truth.

6) Higher mental auric body – Divine love, and spiritual ecstasy.

7) Spiritual (intuitive) body – Divine mind, serenity.

Healing The Mind & Body

You would be surprised to know just how many illnesses are caused by stress. When we are stressed we can literally make ourselves sick with worry. Playing imaginary negative scenarios over and over in our minds can harm the body, as the subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between something real and something imagined.

When you are ill, it is always a good idea to go and visit a doctor. They can examine you and make sure there isn’t anything physically wrong with you. If there is, they can heal your body by providing the necessary medication. Sometimes, you may go to your medical practitioner and be told that there is either nothing wrong with you, or that your symptoms are likely to be psychosomatic; this means that your illness is all in your mind. You have either caused the symptoms by worry, or you imagine the symptoms and they’re not really there.
